چکیده
The reproduction and early growth of fish are essential elements that affect recruitment provide breakthrough points for understanding population fluctuations. In this study, larval juvenile Japanese anchovy (Engraulis japonicus) were collected from five coastal waters off the Pacific coast Japan in 2020 2021 to gain more insight into life history traits such as species on basis otolith microstructure analysis. spawning period appeared be related temperature chlorophyll-a concentrations, showing latitudinal gradient variation among fishing areas. We detected a significant positive allometric pattern between standard length body weight. Gompertz model best fits length, an initial stage was quick accelerating. mean daily rate 0.64 ± 0.09 mm per day. A series mixed-effect models constructed investigate sources differences rates individuals. results revealed regional variability growth, with individuals central stock growing faster. Individuals grew slower heavier than those same indicating trade-off weight growth. individual positively influenced by environmental factors (surface water concentration), within school displayed striking homogeneity Our research demonstrates significance including both physiological characteristics influences studies fish.

Polymorphic microsatellite loci for the Japanese anchovy Engraulis japonicus (Engraulidae).
We isolated and characterized 14 polymorphic microsatellite loci in the Japanese anchovy (Engraulis japonicus) using a (GT)(13)-enriched genomic library. The numbers of alleles per locus ranged from 6 to 31, with a mean of 17.8. The observed and expected heterozygosities ranged from 0.180 to 0.949 and from 0.172 to 0.966, with means of 0.731 and 0.825, respectively. All 14 loci were in Hardy-We...
متن کاملStructure and spectral sensitivity of photoreceptors of two anchovy species: Engraulis japonicus and Engraulis encrasicolus
The morphology, fine structure and spectral sensitivity of retinal photoreceptors of two anchovy species were investigated using light and electron microscopy and microspectrophotometry. Distinct regional specialisation of cones was observed. Long and short (bilobed) cones were observed in the horizontal retinal belt, including the nasal and temporal retinal zones. Only triple cones with two lo...
متن کاملThree cone opsin genes determine the properties of the visual spectra in the Japanese anchovy, Engraulis japonicus (Engraulidae, Teleostei).
A complement of cone visual pigments was identified in the Japanese anchovy Engraulis japonicus, one of the engraulid fish species that has a retina specialized for polarization and color vision. The nature of the chromophore bound to opsin proteins was investigated using high performance liquid chromatography. The opsin genes were then cloned and sequenced, and the absorption spectra of differ...
متن کاملSpatial distribution and dietary overlap between Japanese anchovy Engraulis japonicus and moon jellyfish Aurelia aurita in the Seto Inland Sea, Japan
Biological and physical surveys were conducted in order to investigate the relationship between environmental conditions and the distribution of ichthyoplankton and jellyfish, and dietary overlap between the ichthyoplankton and jellyfish in the Seto Inland Sea (SIS), Japan. Ichthyoplankton, copepods, and jellyfish were collected during two cruises in July 2005 in the Sea of Hiuchi and in July 2...
